Yoga DEVADATTA

Devadatta is born from the mutual desire to share this tool that is the science, philosophy and art of yoga, through a comprehensive practice based on the methodology developed by BKS Iyengar to delve into oneself from there to be able to face the challenges of existence.

Devadatta, in Hindu mythology, is one of the snails of the warriors who call to battle, specifically that of the warrior Arjuna, son of Indra, the king of the gods and the lord of the sky, and the other half of Krsna, god of joy and love. The war of Kurukṣetra that the Bhagavadgītā narrates becomes a simile for the battle that we all carry within us, and just as this sacred text reveals, the practice of yoga is the key to being victorious.

My desire for personal search and freedom led me to start practicing yoga, and to find in the Iyengar methodology the one that gives me the best results for this task. This, together with an intense interest in health in general and my past as a primary education and music teacher, meant that my practice was reaffirmed and that life offered me to start teaching yoga classes, a task to which I have dedicated myself since the year 2017.

I took an introductory yoga teacher course at the Himalayan Iyengar Yoga Center in Dharamsala, India; Later I experimented with the practice of ashtanga vinyasa, completing a 200-hour teaching course certified by the Yoga Alliance; and in recent years my practice has been consolidated by receiving classes with Alexis Simon, a senior teacher certified in the Iyengar methodology since 1997. Currently, I am broadening and expanding my knowledge and personal development by taking a course in psychoemotional therapies.

I have always known that we have all the answers within us and that sometimes we just need to know where we should look. I also work as an integrative nurse, and I am increasingly certain that the ills we suffer are nothing more than imbalances between who we really are and what we do with it. Through the practice of yoga I have rediscovered the path within that gives me the coherence I need to inhabit this world happily.
I have been practicing yoga for more than 10 years, I trained in hatha and vinyasa yoga in Barcelona in 2019, but what has given me the most tools and experience has been the Iyengar methodology, which came into my life as a gift in 2019. I am passionate about philosophy, Indian mythology and the art of recitation, which is why I continue to constantly train and transform.

Satsanga Route

Satsanga could be translated as “good company” in the sense of walking the spiritual path together. From this approach we offer retreats all over the world to live in communion with oneself and with the traveling community that is being created.

Our objective with this proposal is to offer a space to practice, reconnect and rest, in contact with nature, with a healthy and conscious diet and feeling accompanied, in community. A few days to slow down, connect and feel with people with the same concerns as you, in a space where you can relax, let go and be yourself. All this in unique places, through trips that are respectful of the environment and with the local people and customs of the country.
